Anita has appeared at the Hay Festival, Southbank Centre, Oxfam Bookfest, Dialogue Festival, Manchester Literature Festival, Folkestone Bookfest, Jonathan Cape Poetry Day,
 DSC South Asian Literature Festival, and Sharjah International Book Fair among others.
She has chaired events with leading names including Louis de Bernieres, Ian Rankin, Paul Theroux, Ben Okri, Vikram Seth, Shobhaa De, Kate Mosse, Benjamin Zephaniah

She has given journalism and writing workshops around the world, given solo talks and lectures at venues including the Hay Festival, Dialogue Festival, and Sharjah University, read at the English PEN writing roadshow, and faciliated Book Clubs at venues including the Southbank Centre.
She has also performed her own poetry and fiction at a number of venues.
